  1. Hordan has made the move from Preston North End to Hibernian for an undisclosed fee. Hibernian manager Neil Lennon has said "He's one we've been keen on for a long time and it's a real coup to get him over the line, Daryl Hordan will give us a real threat going forward and some strength out wide. We had been looking to add in that area and I'm delighted with the options we now have. "He has power and pace and will hopefully give us another dimension to our play in the final third." Daryl Hordan Irish international has signed a three year deal with the club, hoping to make his first appearance on Sunday against St Johnstone. Hordan said "I am delighted to have made the move to Hibs, I've spoken to the manager and am excited for his plans for the season ahead." "Obviously the boys have started well in Europe and the league, they had a good season last year and the ambition is there to follow that up with another successful year. I'm ready to play and looking forward to trying to break into the team." The 26 year old has had four caps for his international side Ireland and since joining Preston North End in January 2017 he made 44 appearances, scoring four goals. Hordan helped his previous club Dundalk qualify for the Europa League group stages and win three league titles in a row.
  2. Elliot Hodge signed a short term contract to join Burton Albion until January. Hodge has been training with The Brewers in the pre-season as he was a free agent since leaving Notts County at the end of last season. Burton's manager Nigel Cough was keen to snap up the 22 year old midfielder and Hodge has already played in Burton Albions pre-season friendlies. The 22 year old midfielder is the son of Steve Hodge who played for Nottingham Forest and also played for England. Hodge is hoping to be playing in saturdays match against Gillingham, Albion are just waiting for confirmation from the FA. Elliot Hodge said “I’m delighted, I’ve been training for a long time here so it’s nice to get it done, i’ve been here from the start of pre-season and the lads have been really welcoming. “I’m looking forward to being around it, the manager thinks I can improve being around all the players. I want to be involved, I want to enjoy my football and see where it goes.”
  3. Manchester United failed to sign defender Diego Godbin on deadline day. Claims came in that there is now an unrest at the club due to the failed signings before time ran out. Manchester United were unsuccessful in their bid to sign Gobin from Atletico Madrid, along with the attempted move of Toby Alderweireld, Jerome Boateng, Harry Maguire and Yerry Mina. Recently Sky news in Italy reported that United had rejected a bid of £45m aswell as not agreeing on the move of Andre Gomes, Paul Pogba and Yerry Mina from Barcelona" Jose reportedly showed his frustration at the clubs lack of signings at a conference meeting, although Mourinho said their team is ready for the season ahead. Mourinho stated "One lie repeated 1,000 times is still a lie, but the perception of the people is that it's true but it's still a lie. So, when you repeat 1,000 times that my relationship with my players is not good, the perception of the people that read can be different, but I like my players and my group. I enjoyed the last season, the fight to finish where we finished and to manage the best position in five or six years" He went on to say "I'm going to enjoy this season. Again, I know the words you want me to say or not to say. It depends on the music, but words for me don't come easy. I think by the end of November or December, you don't need words, you will see by then which teams are candidates to win the Premier League. In this moment, words are not important." The transfer window has now closed for us, Europeon clubs have until the end of August to sign players. Jose also said "All my players came on monday, tuesday, wednesday and thursday appearing happy and no unrest shown. I have a conversation with Ashley Young, Marouane Fellaini, Jesse Lingard. To know how they feel physically, mentally to try to give us a help."
  4. Bournemouth have signed Brooks for a fee of £12m on a 4 year deal, which was reported to be a club record for Sheffield United. David Brooks is a 20 year old Welsh Midfielder who Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has been looking at for awhile. He has had 3 caps for Wales after previously playing for England under 20s. Eddie Howe reportedly said ""We've seen enough to suggest he could be outstanding at this level, he is technically very good, has huge potential and will fit our philosophy in terms of how we want to play." Sheffield United were not looking to sell him but had a lot of interest from premier league clubs, along with changes in Brooks representation.
  5. League One side Scunthorpe United have named Nick Daws as their permanent manager after a successful spell in charge as the interim manager. His assistant Andy Dawson, who Daws has worked closely with will remain as the assistant manager. Daws took charge back in March and, the pair successfully led Scunthorpe to a fifth-place finish, only suffering one defeat in eight games. In the play-off semi-finals they lost 4-2 to Rotherham United, but Daws will remain in charge of the club during their 2018-19 campaign. "I'm absolutely delighted and really looking forward to it." He told the club website. "It's something I've wanted to do for a really long time and I've waited patiently for the opportunity. Fortunately for me "I can do it at a club that I've been at for three-and-a-half years. I know what everything's about, I know what the expectations are and I've got somebody alongside me that I've worked with hand-in-hand, on-and-off for the three-and-a-half year period as well. "Now's the time to look forward and to be able to look forward with the title of manager is one that makes me really proud. "We're as ambitious as ever. We know, to a certain extent, a club like Scunthorpe is punching above their weight being in-and-around the play-offs. "I'm ambitious and want to be successful in the game and so does the Chairman. To his credit, and his family's credit, they've invested an awful lot of money in this football club."
  6. Liverpool have a good squad in European competitions, but in the Premier League they're far from the finished product. Similar can be said about Manchester City, they're setup with a great squad. Destroying the Premier League, but these players don't quite have a UCL quality about them. I think it will end up between Liverpool or Roma, the two top dogs aren't quite showcaing their ability.
