Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed that striker Benik Afobe has joined Stoke City.
The 25-year-old has signed for the Potters on an initial six-month loan which will become a permanent deal in January.
Afobe moved to Wolves on loan from Bournemouth during the January transfer window and scored six goals in their Championship-winning campaign.
The West Midlanders triggered the option on Afobe's loan deal on June 1 to make his signing permanent, but rumours of an almost immediate move away were on the cards.
Wolves Sporting Director Kevin Thelwell said: "We'd like to place on record our thanks to Benik for his unquestionable contribution to our promotion to the Premier League, and wish him the very best of luck at Stoke City.
"Whilst we decided to exercise the option in Benik's loan deal from AFC Bournemouth at the end of the season, Stoke City's interest in signing him was very strong the end result is positive for all parties."
