Lionel Messi’s Barcelona teammate Ivan Rakitic is upbeat about the chances of Croatia against Argentina and believes anything is possible at the World Cup.
Rakitic and Messi are set to clash in the second Group D match on June 21 in Nizhny Novgorod later this year.
The 29-year-old, who has played alongside Messi in the La Liga for the past 4 years, does not see Messi being worried at the prospect of meeting Croatia.
"I do not think he gets nervous if I say 'watch Croatia!'", he told Marca.
"It's the World Cup, you want to play against the best. And if it is against the best of all times, well better. That's what a World Cup is for.
"I wish a lot. I think we've been the strongest group of all. Croatia has never had so many players in so many important teams, playing and setting the pace."
Rakitic has been an integral part of the Croatian national team since making his debut, going on to win 88 caps and scoring 13 goals in the process.
