Bolton Wanderers have released a total of 20 players in the close season as they begin to prepare for life in League One.
Defender David Wheater, 29, and ex-England striker Emile Heskey, 38 are the highest-profile footballers to leave the Macron Stadium.
Goalkeeper Paul Rachubka, 34, defenders Oscar Threlkeld, 21, Niall Maher, 20, and midfielder Neil Danns and striker Stephen Dobbie, both 33, will also depart in the summer.
Other departures include midfielder Liam Feeney, 29, striker Rob Hall, 22, and defender Hayden White, 21 - who ended the season on loan at Ipswich, MK Dons, and Blackpool respectively.
In addition, 10 development squad players will not have their contracts renewed.
