Birmingham City have terminated the contract of defender Shane Lowry by mutual consent.
The 26-year-old Australia international has returned to his native country and signed a two-and-a-half-year contact with A-League side Perth Glory.
"The time was right to come to Perth and play with Glory, which has been a goal of mine in more recent years," Lowry told Birmingham's official website.
Lowry, who also played for Plymouth Argyle, Leeds United, Sheffield United, Millwall and Leyton Orient, initially arrived in September on a deal until the end of the season following a successful pre-season trial at St Andrew's.
He made one start, in the 1-0 Championship win at home to Cardiff City just before Christmas, also appearing as a half-time substitute in the 2-1 FA Cup third round home defeat by Bournemouth.
